Tolkien & C. S. Lewis High School Essay Contest

A Message from Joseph Pearce, Tolkien & Lewis Chair of Literary Studies at Holy Apostles College & Seminary

Calling all High School Students interested in the works of J. R. R. Tolkien and C. S. Lewis. Please accept this invitation to submit an essay to this year’s Tolkien & C. S. Lewis High School Essay Contest, sponsored by Holy Apostles College and Seminary in partnership with Homeschool Connections.

A prize of $500 has been provided by Homeschool Connections for the writer of the winning essay.

Subject to quality, the winning essay will also be published in the St. Austin Review, the Catholic cultural journal of which I am the editor: www.staustinreview.org.

Essays can be on any topic related to the works of Tolkien and/or C. S. Lewis. Essay submissions should be between 1,000 and 2,000 words in length and should be sent as Word attachments to me at TolkienLewis@holyapostles.edu.

The deadline for receipt of the essays is March 1, 2018.

I look forward to receiving and reading the essays, and to judging them.
