“Teaching Science and Faith” Series Continues
Noted author and scholar Father Robert Spitzer, SJ will offer a free webinar, open to all and of particular interest to high school science and religious teachers, entitled Big Bang, Transcendence and Intelligence: Teaching the unity of science and theology on Tuesday February 3, 2015, from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. EST.
The webinar is the second in Fr. Spitzer’s online series, “Teaching Science and Faith – Conflict or Confluence?”, which kicked off in October with Collaborating to Teach Science and Faith: Helping to stem the tide of increased skepticism among our young people. The series will also be archived at the registration site for future viewing, and those having attended the first session can simply log in on the site – no need to re-register.
Fr. Spitzer is the President of the Magis Center of Reason and Faith, sponsor of the series along with the Institute for Theological Encounter with Science and Technology. He was President of Gonzaga University from 1998 to 2009, and in addition to his extensive research and academic work, has made multiple media appearances, including on CNN, The Today Show, and The History Channel, among others.
Registration is now open – don’t miss the opportunity to hear Fr. Spitzer on this fascinating topic, so important to all who help to shape the minds of young people.
